Solid Control Equipment Accessories What functions are available?
Solid Control Equipment Accessories It is playing an increasingly active role in drilling operations. What are the Accessories and functions of solid control equipment? The main equipment of the drilling fluid solid control system includes: Drilling fluid shaker, vacuum degasser, cyclone desander, desilter, and drilling fluid centrifuge, among others.
Do you know what solid control equipment Accessories are?
1. Solid Control Equipment Accessories Mud linear vibrating screen: As a solids-control device for drilling-fluid treatment, its function is to remove other harmful solid particles from the drilling fluid, such as cuttings. The drilling fluid is processed using screens of varying mesh sizes to control particle size, specifically for solid-phase particles larger than 74 microns.
2. Accessories for solid-control equipment: cyclone separators (desanders and desilters). Desanders are secondary purification devices for drilling fluid, primarily used to remove sand particles larger than 44–74 microns. Desilters are mainly used for tertiary purification of drilling fluid. In addition, micro-cyclones can be selected based on the actual conditions of the drilling fluid, primarily to separate muddy solid-phase particles larger than 2–4 microns.
3. Drilling fluid centrifuge: Its function is to control clay particles in the drilling fluid, manage the solid phase content of the drilling fluid, remove solid-phase content from unweighted drilling fluid, and recover barite from weighted drilling fluid. The drilling fluid centrifuge primarily targets solid-phase particles in the size range of 2 to 4 microns.
Solid Control Equipment Accessories The purification process for mobile drilling mud solids-control systems—drilling fluid solids-control equipment—is roughly as follows: wellhead (return drilling fluid) → drilling fluid shaker → vacuum degasser → drilling fluid desander → desilter → drilling fluid centrifuge → purified drilling fluid returned to the wellhead. 1) Drilling fluid shaker: As a primary solids-control device in drilling fluid treatment, the drilling fluid shaker removes cuttings and other harmful solid particles from the drilling fluid. The number of screen meshes determines the size of the particles to be separated, primarily solids larger than 74 microns. 2) Cyclone separators (Desander, Desilter): The desander is a secondary purification device for drilling fluid. The desander is mainly used to remove sand particles larger than 44–74 microns. The desilter is primarily used for tertiary drilling fluid purification, targeting turbid solid particles larger than 15–44 microns. Depending on the actual conditions of the drilling fluid, miniature cyclones can also be selected, mainly for separating clay-like solid particles larger than 2–4 microns. 3) Drilling fluid centrifuge: The function of the drilling fluid centrifuge is to control clay particles in the drilling fluid, manage the solid phase of the drilling fluid, reduce the solid-phase content in unweighted drilling fluid, and recover barite in weighted drilling fluid. The drilling fluid centrifuge primarily targets solid particles ranging from 2 to 44 microns. 4) Vacuum degasser: The vacuum degasser is mainly used to remove gases that have invaded the drilling fluid; this is not within the scope of solids control. However, since gas invasion can significantly impair the drilling fluid’s specific gravity, viscosity, and density, degassing equipment is typically employed. Oil-drilling solids-control equipment and systems are devices and systems designed to treat and recycle drilling fluid (mud) returning from the wellhead to the surface. Solids-control systems can effectively separate large drill cuttings, barite, and other large solid particles from the wellhead and return them to the surface (as mud), allowing the treated drilling fluid (mud) to be reused, thereby reducing drilling costs and promoting environmental protection.
